About Gofort

The story & the company today

The year was 1989…

…and at home in Birger Holmbom’s garage, the very first Gofort sled was welded together. With an eye for detail and a passion for craftsmanship, he began making scooter sleds that soon became known for their smooth ride and durability. Today, decades later, Gofort is still a family business – now led by Birger’s grandchildren, who share the same dedication to quality and northern craftsmanship.

Over generations, we have accumulated knowledge on how to build the best toboggan. With carefully selected materials and a manufacturing process that combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, we make sure each sled is ready to face the Arctic winters.
